Dee was up and cooking breakfast. She had a smile on her face. She thought to herself how crazy her life has been the past couple of weeks but at this moment right now she’d never been more happy. She felt free in a way. She wasn’t worried about Shawn and his bullshit, she didn’t care anymore about trying to hurt him or seek revenge, well not at this very moment. Sure, she was in a place she didn’t know with a guy she really didn’t know but she was happy. Jay made her happy. They were in this beautiful house and even though the situation surrounding this place was still in question Dee felt like she could start a new life here. Dee then thought about her cousin Taye. She knew Taye would be looking for her by now but there was nothing she could do about that right now. For the time being she had to keep a low profile. Dee still didn’t know who were after her and Jay but at this very moment it didn’t matter. Dee set the kitchen table and went back to the stove to get the eggs. Jay came down the steps and saw Dee getting breakfast ready. He smiled. In such a short time this woman captured his heart. He was tired of fighting it. He wanted to be able to enjoy the moment. He didn’t want to think about what was going on in the real world because in the real world there was danger. He wished him and Dee could stay here forever and live just like this. He knew that this hideout would be short lived but couldn’t he just enjoy it? Why did life have to be so complicated? Why couldn’t you just find the right person and be happy? Jay looked at Dee and knew she was the right person for him. He had been around long enough to know that it wasn’t every day you met someone and they made you feel free, like life wasn’t so bad, that everything you went through in life didn’t matter anymore because this person made your life worth living. In a way Jay was happy that he had a tough upbringing because he appreciated Dee more because of it. He knew how cruel life could be, how much love could hurt and now love was actually a good thing. Shit, did he just think that? Love. Wow Jay didn’t think he would fall in love again but if he wasn’t already in love he damn sure was close.“Good morning.”Jay said to Dee. Dee turned around and smiled and said,“Good morning.”She put a plate of eggs on the table.“I was just going to wake you up for breakfast.”Jay looked at the table and went over to Dee and kissed her on the cheek.“Thank you.”Jay pulled a seat out for Dee so she could sit down. He sat down across from her and they ate.

Later that day Dee was in Jay’s arms in bed.
